About John-Paul “Jp” Jones since picking up his first instrument in 1978 Prof. Jp has been entertaining audiences through live performance and and recorded media of the past several decades. As the 2021  Lifoti Magazine Artist/Album of The Year recipient and a 2018 Iowa Blues Challenge Finalist Prof. Jp Jones, dedication to putting on a quality performance is evident. Prof. Jp is an active member of the AFM, BRC, IBF, ISSA & ASCAP,

After a very successful series of performances in 2018 at the Iowa State Fair & Iowa Blues Challenge. The group went on to perform in 2019 at the 9th Bourbon & Blues, 30th Annual End of Summer Rally, and a repeat performance at the Iowa State Fair.  2019 also hosted the inaugural Patriot's Picnic Concert Series dedicated to helping veterans service organizations. This series is hosted and donated exclusively to VFW & American Legion posts throughout the midwest by Professor Jp featuring the John-Paul Jones Group 

With the 2020 Pandemic, Professor Jp utilized the time available due to the live entertainment crash to write an evocative album of songs and they are featured on the February 2021 release entitled “Broke In Bridge City” to learn more please visit the website https://www.johnpauljonesgroup.com

John-Paul Jones Group original music discography is deeply inspired by the heavy blues artists of the late 60's thru early 70's in particular, Phil Lynott, Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower & Rory Gallager. However, the music he writes is equally inspired by by modern artists as diverse Jon Butcher, Al Dimeola, Frank Gambale, Tony MacAlpine & Greg Howe..
